Procurement Manager in Craigavon

The Procurement Manager is responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies that ensure the timely, cost-effective, and quality-assured supply of materials, services, and equipment required for manufacturing operations. The role focuses on supplier management, cost reduction, inventory optimization, risk mitigation, and ensuring continuity of supply to support production targets and business objectives. Key Responsibilities Procurement & Sourcing Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with business and manufacturing objectives. Source, negotiate, and manage contracts with suppliers to achieve best value in cost, quality, delivery, and service. Lead tendering and supplier selection processes. Monitor market trends, availability of materials, and pricing fluctuations. Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and relevant regulations. Supplier Management Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers. Build and maintain strong supplier relationships. Conduct regular supplier performance reviews using KPIs. Resolve supplier-related quality, delivery, and service issues. Drive supplier development and continuous improvement initiatives. Cost Management Deliver annual cost-saving and cost-avoidance targets. Analyse spend data and identify opportunities for consolidation and efficiency. Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and contractual agreements. Collaborate with finance teams to support budgeting and forecasting activities. Inventory & Production Support Work closely with production planning, warehouse, and operations teams to ensure material availability. Minimise stock-outs and production disruptions. Support inventory optimisation and working capital improvement initiatives. Monitor supplier lead times and manage supply risks. Risk & Compliance Develop contingency plans for critical materials and suppliers. Ensure supplier compliance with quality, environmental, ethical, and safety standards. Manage procurement-related audits and documentation. Monitor geopolitical, economic, and supply chain risks that may impact operations. Team Leadership Lead, coach, and develop procurement team members. Set objectives and performance measures for team members. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration. Support succession planning and talent development within the procurement function. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Business Development. Participate in new product introduction and capital investment projects. Support sustainability initiatives and ESG objectives through responsible sourcing practices. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Cost savings achieved against target. Supplier on-time delivery performance. Material availability and production continuity. Inventory turns and stockholding levels. Supplier quality performance. Procurement budget compliance. Contract compliance rate. Supplier risk assessment completion and mitigation. Qualifications & Experience Essential Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business, Engineering, or related discipline. Minimum 5 years' procurement experience within a manufacturing environment. Experience leading supplier negotiations and managing contracts. Strong understanding of supply chain and inventory management principles. Experience using ERP/MRP systems (Infor Cloud suite Industrial (Syteline). Desirable Professional procurement qualification (CIPS Level 5/6 or equivalent). Experience in lean manufacturing environments. Project management qualification or experience. Occasional travel to supplier locations and other company sites. Participation in site projects, audits, and supplier reviews as required.
