KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Preventative & Reactive Maintenance:
    • Implement and maintain a planned servicing and preventative maintenance program across the site.
    • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues before they lead to breakdowns.
    • Respond quickly to breakdowns and complete repairs efficiently while considering production schedules.
    • Perform preventative maintenance activities to maximize equipment reliability.
  • Troubleshooting & Repairs:
    • Diagnose and repair electrical systems, apparatus, and electronic components of industrial machinery.
    • Identify and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components.
    • Assess whether repairs can be completed in-house or if replacement is necessary, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Collaboration & Communication:
    • Work closely with the Maintenance Lead to source necessary materials from approved suppliers at the best price.
    • Keep production cell leaders informed of repair progress and estimated completion times.
    • Communicate effectively with the Production Manager regarding major equipment failures and required downtime for maintenance.
  • Compliance & Documentation:
    • Adhere to Health & Safety regulations and assist in implementing company policies and procedures.
    • Maintain accurate servicing and maintenance records.
    • Manage coolant supply to ensure compliance with customer specifications.
  • Flexibility & Continuous Improvement:
    • Be available for overtime when required to maximize equipment uptime.
    • Continuously look for ways to improve maintenance processes and reduce machine downtime.
    • Perform additional tasks as required, within reason and capability, as agreed with the Production Manager.
