Job Overview
We are looking for a Shop Manager to run the day‑to‑day operations of our charity shop.
The role focuses on customer service, donation preparation, staff and volunteer management, local partnerships and maintaining high standards for the shop’s environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily shop operations and ensure a welcoming, customer‑friendly environment.
- Prepare, sort and display donated items, handling manual tasks as required.
- Recruit, train and maintain a pool of skilled volunteers for collection, sorting and customer service.
- Collaborate with local businesses, Salvation Army Corps and community members to secure donations and volunteering opportunities.
- Maintain shop standards, inventory and financial records.
- Promote the shop’s mission and values to customers and the public.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety, finance and charity regulations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Resilient, supportive and enthusiastic leadership style.
- Positive attitude and commitment to exceptional customer service.
- Experience managing staff or volunteers preferred.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Interest in sustainability and reuse/recycling initiatives.
- Previous retail or charity shop experience is an advantage.
- Required
- All Shop Managers must complete an Enhanced DBS Check.
