Excellent opportunity for a Relief Support Worker to join our team across East Sussex and Newhaven Services. Salvation Army Homes is dedicated to providing comprehensive, high quality housing services, support and resettlement for people experiencing homelessness and in need of support and accommodation.

As a Relief Support Worker you will:

  • Get to know and build the trust of our clients.
  • Motivate young people to recognise and unlock their talents.
  • Encourage participation in social and leisure programmes.
  • Support residents with the practicalities of everyday living.
  • Provide administration support and ensure the health and safety of the building and residents.

A Relief Support Worker will instinctively share our delivery values and behaviours, love their work, help people to thrive and always find a way to be effective.

Qualifications:

  • Confident and capable communicator, not fazed by difficult situations.
  • Ability to build trusting, professional relationships and a high level of resilience.
  • Take an asset‑based approach to empowering people to develop their skills, strengths and talents.
  • Good knowledge or experience of working with homeless people and/or supporting vulnerable people or groups.
  • Understanding or willingness to learn about community resources and organisations that can help our clients.
