A leading defence organisation is seeking Systems Engineers of different levels of experience to join our growing team within Missile Systems Design. You will be developing and delivering the latest Complex Weapons capabilities for our Armed Forces, working on defence-related products to provide sovereign capability to the UK and our nation’s allies.
Dynamic (hybrid) working: We trust our people to agree, within their teams, where and when they can be most effective. Our Dynamic Working policy allows individuals flexibility around the hours they work and where they work. Typically for this role, you will work 3 days per week on-site.
The opportunity involves:
- Evaluating customer technical requirements to develop product requirement specifications.
- Utilising system design and modelling techniques to study system behaviour and support design choices.
- Planning and managing verification and validation to demonstrate cutting-edge functionality and performance.
- Gaining a detailed understanding of missile system design as part of a diverse engineering development team.
What we're looking for from you:
- Application of systems engineering practices across the ‘V-model’ to develop complex products.
- Understanding of systems engineering tools (e.g. DOORS, Rhapsody) and applicable languages (SysML) is desirable.
- Experience of managing engineering work packages to deliver value outcomes, including co-ordination of other engineering teams and SMEs.
- Managing partners, including customers or suppliers, and an ability to build excellent working relationships.
- Application of Defence, Military or other aerospace standards and design assurance processes is useful.
- A desire to develop and grow your systems engineering skills.
- Experience gained in the defence or aerospace industry, in government or the armed forces is useful.
