About The Role
Beaumont College is a very special place. We provide highly personalised pathways for special school leavers, and we support them in the journey to become adults, and to live independent and fulfilling lives as far as possible. Area Team Leaders have oversight of a cohort of residents, alongside the staff team who work to support them in fulfilling their potential.
The role of an Area Team Leader can start during a future student’s application stage, including reviewing pre-entry information and supporting overnight assessments and transition-in arrangements. The Area Team Leader will have oversight of the production, review and revision of the care plan, ensuring the requirements for each individual are highly person centred, and staff are supported and enabled to deliver services to a consistently high level.
This will include working with the support of a multidisciplinary team of nurses, occupational physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, dietetics and nutrition specialists, assistive technologists and a positive behaviour team. The role holder will have responsibility to provide oversight, supervision, mentoring and guidance to a staff team, including undertaking practice checks.
Post holders will work shifts alongside their team, although some of their time will be supernumerary to the ratios of support, post holders will provide direct support to students in their care. Team Leaders will plan and manage rotas, to allocate staff resources based on collective and individual student needs.

Hours: 37 hours per week (52 week)
Job Responsibilities:
- To work within policies, procedures and guidelines to provide excellence in person-centred care and support for students.
- Take part in pre-entry processes to determine compatibility and transition support needs, in consultation with the Deputy Manager for the service.
- Devise Person-centred Care Plans using the agreed, preferred software, and ensure training of staff, and competency requirements are met within a well-prepared staff team for each shift.
- Be a named point of contact for residents and their parents/carers.
- To provide effective support to the Deputy Manager of the service, the Assistant Principal (Care) and other stakeholders to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of support services.
- Maintain an audit and service inspection ready residential provision at all times maintaining currency with CQC Regulatory Requirements.
- To uphold the Salutem and college values, celebrating individuality through an open and accessible service.
- To provide direct line management to staff including undertaking appraisals / PDRs, supervision, practice checks and mentoring.
- To attend and contribute to Care Leadership and Management Meetings, Area meetings or other meetings where appropriate or required.
- Promote and protect relationships with internal and external stakeholders including education and therapies.
- To monitor students’ individual support plans, objectives and contracts to ensure that these are in place and being effectively delivered.
