About The Role

Responsibilities: As a Deputy Manager, you will play a pivotal role in assisting the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the service. You will provide leadership and guidance to staff, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and promoting best practices in care delivery.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Registered Manager in delivering person-centred services.
  • Monitoring health and safety for service users and staff.
  • Supervising and mentoring support workers, including recruitment, induction, and performance management.
  • Ensuring compliance with CQC standards and safeguarding procedures.
  • Managing rotas, staffing levels, and contributing to budget oversight.
  • Promoting service user involvement and choice in their care.
  • Acting as a positive role model and providing leadership in the absence of the Registered Manager.

Key Requirements

Essential:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Social Care (or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of CQC standards, safeguarding, DOLS, and health & safety regulations.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel).
  • Excellent communication and planning abilities.
  • Flexible approach to working hours, including participation in on-call rota.
  • Ability to live within reasonable distance for out-of-hours support.

Desirable:

  • NVQ Level 5 in Social Care.
  • Experience in managing budgets and complex rostering.
