Beaumont College in Sussex is located on the well regarded Ingfield Manor School site. Developed in partnership, the specialist post 19 College setting is intended to support some of the most vulnerable special school leavers in their journey towards busy and fulfilling lives as adults. Both Ingfield Manor School and Beaumont College are part of Salutem Care and Education.

As a College Support Worker, you will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team to support students who have long term health conditions, which are commonly complex. Most students are supported around mobility and may well be wheelchair users. You will be values driven, and have an affinity with our students as young adults. They live with disability, and the care and support they rely on must be provided by others, and always with dignity and respect and with their consent and agreement.

You will be trained and supported to reach the expected standards, and our learners will be able to communicate with you about their needs and preferences in their preferred way. Responsibilities

  • Participate actively in creating an appropriately stimulating learning environment for students in accordance with the college's ethos.
  • Implement group and individual educational programmes for students under the direction of the lead tutor / centre manager and to be involved in associated planning and preparation.
  • Contribute to the development of the overall programme for the group of students.
  • Contribute to writing individual aims for students.
  • Have responsibility for maintaining all records for specific students.
  • Be involved in all aspects of the students’ day.
  • Provide good standards of physical and emotional care including personal care and delegated healthcare tasks.
  • The work involves the physical facilitation of students and the moving of furniture and equipment.
