About The Role
As a Deputy Manager, you will play a pivotal role in assisting the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the service. You will provide leadership and guidance to staff, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and promoting best practices in care delivery.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Supporting the Registered Manager in delivering person-centred services.
- Monitoring health and safety for service users and staff.
- Supervising and mentoring support workers, including recruitment, induction, and performance management.
- Ensuring compliance with CQC standards and safeguarding procedures.
- Managing rotas, staffing levels, and contributing to budget oversight.
- Promoting service user involvement and choice in their care.
- Acting as a positive role model and providing leadership in the absence of the Registered Manager.
Key Requirements - Essential:
- NVQ Level 3 in Social Care (or equivalent).
- Knowledge of CQC standards, safeguarding, DOLS, and health & safety regulations.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel).
- Excellent communication and planning abilities.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including participation in on‑call rota.
- Ability to live within reasonable distance for out-of-hours support.
Desirable:
- NVQ Level 5 in Social Care.
- Experience in managing budgets and complex rostering.
