Overview

The Business Development Manager will have the responsibility of working with Operational Management teams and Finance teams as the key contact in the Business Development Team. The role involves leading the development and marketing of new and existing education services, as well as ongoing public relations exercises to increase the profile of the Company. You will focus on maximising occupancy within our educational establishments, working closely with school and college principals and their teams. Additionally, you will collaborate with the Business Development team and wider Salutem colleagues to create new educational services aligned with commissioning demand, using available information to determine, quantify, and strategically respond to service demand. Representing Salutem Care and Education, you will embody our core values and promote our standards and values with external partners. Your responsibilities also include overseeing processes to maintain and improve occupancy across all Salutem sites and services.

Role information

Salary: £60,000 increasing to £65,000 after successful probation

Location: Home-based with travel required

Key Responsibilities

  • Report to the Group Head of Business Development and undertake delegated work as per the Company Strategic Plan and Board approval.
  • Promote Salutem Care and Education and its services to prospective purchasers, carers, and professionals.
  • Lead on developing new services based on commissioner relationships and strategic aims.
  • Support the Business Development referral team and contribute to team KPIs, especially occupancy targets.
  • Arrange visits to services for prospective purchasers and interested parties.
  • Assist in tenders, bids, and projects, sharing knowledge of upcoming opportunities.
  • Contribute to marketing and PR materials in collaboration with the Marketing Team.
  • Supervise the education Vacancy and Referral Lead, supporting KPI achievement.
  • Coordinate between education and residential services to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Support promotional activities and represent the company at conferences.
  • Identify and pursue new purchaser leads and maintain relationships with current commissioners and local authorities.
  • Contribute to Board reports on potential new developments.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to remodel existing services for future needs.
  • Promote a positive corporate culture and uphold the organisation\’s standards and values.
