About The Company

This role is available from August 2026. Edward Street offers a 24-hour support partnership with adults who are living with complex physical disabilities and learning disabilities. Situated on a quiet residential street in Widnes, Cheshire, the vibrant home comprises of 2 fully accessible 3-bedroom bungalows. Both bungalows have communal areas and hoisting facilities throughout, as well as an easily accessible garden to spend warm days in. All of the people we support have the opportunity to personalise their own bedrooms, and we encourage individuals to have a say in the decor of the home. We help them best to achieve their personal goals and reach their full potential and to live wonderfully normal lives in the community and their own home.

Other individuals we support love planning and hosting parties! They enjoy spending time in the sun and playing all sorts of sports in the garden. They celebrate each other’s birthdays in style and are also partial to a good game of dominos! Picnics, connect 4, arts & crafts, and eating cake are just some of the other things they love getting up to!

About The Role

As a Deputy Manager, you will assist the Registered Manager in all aspects of the day-to-day running of the home. This includes ensuring that the needs of the service users are met, managing the staff team, monitoring the quality of care and support, ensuring high standards of professional practice, whilst achieving compliance with external regulatory standards. Please note: The post is 40 hours per week, with 16 hours per week providing direct support to the individuals living in the service and 24 hours based in the office; therefore requiring flexible shift work.

Reporting to the Registered Manager, the post holder will work to ensure that specialist and quality care and support for service users is maintained through assisting in the planning, implementation, supervision and evaluation of service user care and support. The Deputy Manager will also be required to ensure that policies, procedures, systems and workplace practices are fully implemented and consistently applied.

You will be passionate about motivating and empowering your team and encouraging their development. You will also be an inspiring role model, leading by example, imparting knowledge, championing best practice and promoting new thinking, enabling the team to help the people we support to make choices and decisions, live each day to the fullest and develop life skills along the way.

The successful candidate will need to show a high level of commitment and flexibility in the role and be able to work closely with the Registered Manager and staff team to ensure the very best outcomes are achieved for the individuals residing at Edward Street.
