Ingfield Manor School is a non-maintained special school and part of Salutem Care and Education, supporting adults and children in residential and educational environments. Based in idyllic grounds, Ingfield Manor School offers extensive specialist facilities to provide an exceptional learning environment, helping children and young people fulfil their potential. Facilities include woodland and outdoor classroom space, high specification sensory room, and swimming pool. The aim of our services is to provide a safe and stimulating environment that enables children and young people to flourish and grow. Our IMS provision caters for students aged 3—19 years with neurological motor impairment such as Cerebral Palsy and associated medical and sensory needs. Following the Conductive Education approach, Ingfield Manor School focuses on the holistic development of everyone, including their physical and communication skills. Our residential provision Acorns provides respite care for students, from Monday to Friday during term time. Our Woodview provision is for secondary aged students with special educational needs including speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN) and autistic spectrum conditions (ASC).
Main Details: Wednesday and Thursdays, 12 waking hours per week. Term Time only (39 weeks). The core hours are 19:00hrs– 07:30hrs, waking 19:00 – 23:00hrs and 05:30hrs – 07:30hrs, sleeping 23:00hrs – 05:30hrs. However, an earlier start time (19:30hrs) may be indicated on some evenings. The post is term-time only - standard 39-week school year. The sleep-in is within the residential area. Salary £7,466.04 - £7,546.32 pa (£13.95 - £14.10 per hour) plus £3,040 sleep in on call allowance per year. (FTE 52wks £29,016 - £29,328). Dependent upon experience.
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Night Support Worker to join our team and provide exceptional care and support to our young residents. In this vital role, you will help create a safe, nurturing, and structured environment throughout the night. Your responsibilities will include:
- Working closely with evening and early-morning duty staff, including completing formal handovers to ensure continuity of care and awareness of any issues requiring action.
- Supporting residents with their evening and night-time routines, including preparing for bed and assisting with morning wake-up routines.
- Carrying out routine laundry, hygiene tasks, and light domestic duties in between scheduled bedroom checks.
- Playing an active role in fire evacuation procedures and ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
- Responding appropriately to any issues that arise during the night, escalating concerns to the relevant senior staff when necessary.
- Completing all required documentation, including night logs and wellbeing records, before the end of your shift, and providing a thorough handover to day staff at 7:00am.
- Monitoring the security of the premises throughout the night.
- Delivering high standards of physical and emotional care to all residents.
- Helping maintain a safe, hygienic, and well-presented physical environment.
- Participating in ongoing staff training and development.
- You must hold (or be willing to work towards and complete) a Level 3 NVQ/Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent.
- Supporting and promoting the school’s conductive education ethos, encouraging positive attitudes in both staff and students.
- Working collaboratively across departments to help deliver the organisation’s strategic goals.
- Demonstrating a commitment to excellence and meeting the expectations of both the organisation and regulatory bodies.
- Adhering to all company policies and procedures at all times.
