Ingfield Manor School is a non-maintained special school and part of Salutem Care and Education, supporting adults and children in residential and educational environments. Based in idyllic grounds, Ingfield Manor School offers extensive specialist facilities to provide an exceptional learning environment, helping children and young people fulfil their potential. Facilities include woodland and outdoor classroom space, high specification sensory room, and swimming pool.

Our IMS provision caters for students aged 3–19 years with neurological motor impairment such as Cerebral Palsy and associated medical and sensory needs. Following the Conductive Education approach, Ingfield Manor School focuses on the holistic development of everyone, including their physical and communication skills. Our Woodview provision is for secondary aged students with special educational needs including speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN) and autistic spectrum conditions (ASC).

Job Overview:

  • Support the class teacher to ensure the delivery of a high-quality education for all students, implementing relevant education policies and procedures.
  • Provide appropriate support to students, enabling them to access the curriculum as independently as possible.
  • Organise the classroom, its resources, student groupings, and displays to provide a stimulating learning situation for students with ASC/SCLN/Complex Needs.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher to ensure the safety of students in line with risk assessments.
  • Produce effective resources/teaching aids at the request of the class teacher and/or tutor.
  • Assist learners in developing or refining their independence skills, including personal care elements.
  • Promote the physical, educational, and moral development of the students in line with company policies.
  • Ensure that equipment and resources are used, stored, and maintained efficiently, reporting maintenance issues as necessary.
  • Support the teacher in writing, updating, implementing, and evaluating documentation relating to individual students.
  • Contribute to developments related to the School Development Plan.
  • Participate in staff training and development programmes.
  • Keep up-to-date with specified subject area, educational practice, and SEND-related information.
  • Work with and manage sensory needs, enabling learners with a sensory diet and/or self-regulatory strategies.
  • Maintain records in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Liaise with staff from other departments to provide a consistent approach to learner education.
  • Maintain regular communication and liaison to ensure a consistent approach to education.
  • Ensure the service operates to agreed budgets and contribute to keeping within these budgets.
  • Report issues and/or incidents relating to staff and students promptly to the relevant line manager.
  • Operate in accordance with company policies and procedures, particularly regarding safeguarding and child protection.
  • Participate in team meetings, supervisions, and annual reviews in accordance with company policy.
  • Promote the school as a valued, professional asset within its community.
  • Exhibit the values of the company and maintain standards of behaviour in accordance with company policies.
