About The Role:
The Head of Learning Assistant will support the effective delivery of education, preparation for adulthood and quality assurance activities across Beaumont College Sussex. The postholder will work closely with the Head of Learning with curriculum delivery, learner progress, evidence collection, community access, communication development, and implementation of educational systems. The role will also provide direct support to teachers, learning support staff, and the wider multidisciplinary team as required to assist the Head of Learning.
- Support for the Head of Learning: Support curriculum initiatives, educational development projects, Databridge systems, learning walks, audits, reports, inspection readiness, quality improvement plans, curriculum resources and EHCP outcome monitoring.
- Learner Support: Provide direct educational support to learners with complex SEND and medical needs. Promote communication, participation, independence, community access, positive behaviour support, preparation for adulthood and work-related learning opportunities.
- Communication and Interaction: Support AAC, symbols, communication passports, objects of reference, visual supports and personalised communication approaches. Encourage learners to communicate choices, preferences and opinions.
- Community Access and Preparation for Adulthood: Support educational visits, volunteering, vocational opportunities, independent living skills, community participation and meaningful adulthood outcomes.
- Educational Administration and Evidence Collection: Gather and upload evidence of progress, maintain learning journals, support annual reviews, monitor learner achievements and assist with accreditation evidence.
- Supporting the Wider Team: Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, nurses, support workers and families. Contribute to planning, team meetings, learner reviews and induction of new staff.
- Safeguarding, Health and Safety: Promote safeguarding, dignity, confidentiality and wellbeing. Follow care plans, risk assessments, personal care procedures and moving and handling guidance.
