Ingfield Manor School is a non‑maintained special school and part of Salutem Care and Education who have services across England and Wales supporting adults and children in residential and educational environments. Based in our own idyllic grounds, Ingfield Manor School offers extensive specialist facilities with the aim to provide an exceptional learning environment, helping children and young people fulfil their potential. Facilities include woodland and outdoor classroom space, high specification sensory room and swimming pool. The aim of our services is to provide a safe and stimulating environment that enables children and young people to flourish and grow. Our IMS provision caters for students aged 3—19 years with neurological motor impairment such as Cerebral Palsy and associated medical and sensory needs. About The Role
- Location: Woodview at Ingfield Manor School
- Reporting to: Lead Teacher
- Hours: 40 hours per week, Term Time Only (39 weeks) Maternity Cover
- Salary: ÂŁ13.70 - ÂŁ14.80 per hour dependent upon experience
Key Responsibilities
- Teaching & Learning
- Lead small‑group teaching sessions under the guidance of the class teacher.
- Support and facilitate off‑site learning experiences, including educational visits and community‑based activities.
- Use ICT effectively to enhance and support students’ learning.
- Carry out additional tasks as directed by the class teacher.
- Deliver supervised whole‑class teaching when required.
- Apply informed, effective teaching strategies that reinforce the teacher’s planning and promote progress for all learners.
- Encourage inclusion by supporting all students to participate in learning and extracurricular opportunities.
- Help organise and maintain a safe, engaging and well‑resourced learning environment.
- Observe students’ learning and behaviour, sharing relevant information with the class teacher.
- Planning
- Contribute to assessment and planning by monitoring, recording and reporting on student progress, appropriate to the role.
- Read and understand lesson plans in advance, where available.
- Prepare the classroom and resources ahead of lessons.
- Use your expertise to support the planning and preparation of learning activities and define your role within them.
- Use allocated planning time to design structured, engaging tasks that motivate learners and support their progress.
- Plan appropriate support to ensure all students can fully participate in classroom activities.
- Transition Support
- Assist in delivering the transition programme for new Year 7 students, helping to build relationships and ease their move into secondary school.
- Support the organisation and delivery of summer transition activities, welcome events, and orientation sessions for students and families.
- Provide ongoing support to Year 7 students and their families throughout the Autumn term to ensure a positive transition experience.
- Working with Colleagues & External Professionals
- Communicate effectively with staff, students, parents and carers, as directed by the class teacher.
- Share knowledge of students’ needs with colleagues and external professionals (education, health and social care) to support appropriate decision‑making around interventions and provision.
- Keep relevant professionals updated on student progress or concerns.
- Offer advice and support on behaviour needs in collaboration with other services.
- Share best practice and expertise with team members.
- Contribute to staff development by participating in training and supporting aspects of the school’s training programme.
- Whole‑School Contribution
- Support the development and implementation of school policies, procedures and practices, promoting the school’s values and vision.
- Play an active role in the wider life and ethos of the school.
- Health & Safety
- Promote and safeguard the wellbeing of all students in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education and the school’s safeguarding and child protection policies.
