Learning Support Worker in Plymouth

Beaumont College supports special school leavers, including those with complex autism and social and emotional challenges. This role is 35 hours per week, term‑time only.

Responsibilities

• As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will support identified students to prepare for fulfilling busy lives as young adults.
• You will provide the care and support they need to access their learning, including personal care for students with long‑term health conditions.
• The students will benefit from a range of timetabled activities alongside life in a busy student community; no two days are the same.
• You will help them develop strategies focused on positive behaviours, reducing reliance on unhelpful communication methods, and enabling them to be heard, listened to and understood.

Working Environment

Students may rely on your support for personal care. The setting is a small team, offering frequent opportunities for collaboration and shared responsibility.
