  • Identify, plan for, and remove barriers to learning by consistently implementing individual support plans and agreed protocols.
  • Set long‑term outcomes for each learner, identifying what they will achieve, may achieve, and can aspire to achieve.
  • Establish SMART learning targets to support individual development, progress, and achievement.
  • Monitor and record learner progress over time, maintaining a clear and robust evidence base to demonstrate achievement of learning objectives.
  • Align curriculum knowledge, skills, and behaviours with learning pathways and subject‑specific activities in line with organisational values.
  • Deliver curriculum that promotes emergent and conventional literacy, numeracy, and digital skills, ensuring learning is relevant to individual learner needs and outcomes.
  • Complete and adhere to risk assessments for curriculum and co‑curricular activities, both on and off site.
  • Work in a person‑centred way to embed therapeutic approaches and assistive technologies into learners’ programmes.
  • Promote effective classroom management and deploy learning and support staff efficiently to meet learner needs.
  • Plan, prepare for, and lead educational activities, including trips and visits, ensuring compliance with financial, health, safety, and wellbeing requirements.
  • Ensure learning and support staff have the necessary information and resources to deliver effective learning, including providing guidance for cover staff.
  • Act as a personal tutor for identified learners, providing pastoral and academic support.
  • Participate in training, professional development, deep dives, and learning looks to maintain high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment.
  • Contribute to continuous quality improvement, including self‑assessment and service development activities.
  • Ensure compliance with organisational and college policies and procedures at all times.
  • Report and record safeguarding, health and safety, and behavioural concerns promptly, in line with college procedures.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy learning environment, responding appropriately to any health and safety issues.
  • Manage information securely in accordance with Data Protection policies and procedures.
