Salute is looking for a Sales Engineer to join our team. This is a key role for someone who enjoys combining technical knowledge of infrastructure with commercial insight to help customers solve complex challenges and drive business growth.
At Salute, you’ll work closely with the sales team to understand customer requirements, design technical solutions, and present them in a way that clearly demonstrates value. If you have experience with Salesforce or other CRM systems, enjoy client-facing technical discussions, and want to contribute to high-value deals across EMEA, this role is for you.
We are open to candidates from a range of technical backgrounds, including recent graduates in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services. Prior experience in data centers is not essential; experience in similar industries such as facilities management, mission-critical infrastructure, or industrial engineering will also be considered.
This will be a hybrid position with 2 days per week based at the Gatwick office.
You’ll provide technical guidance throughout the sales cycle, collaborate with engineering and delivery teams, and communicate complex solutions in a clear, business-focused way. Your input helps shape bids, ensure solutions are deliverable, and contribute to successful, high-value contracts.
- Using your knowledge of infrastructure, including electrical, mechanical, cooling, and mission-critical systems.
- Being involved in end-to-end pre-sales activities, from discovery to proposal and demonstration.
- Using CRM systems like Salesforce to track engagements and maintain accurate records.
You are focused exclusively on IT or software roles rather than infrastructure and facilities.
You’re uncomfortable collaborating across technical, commercial, and operational teams.
- Provide technical expertise to the sales team throughout the full sales cycle.
- Collaborate with internal engineering, delivery, and operations teams to ensure solutions are deliverable.
- Support pricing and commercial discussions with technical input on scope, complexity, and risk.
- Maintain accurate records in Salesforce or other CRM systems.
- Contribute to standard solutions, technical collateral, and sales enablement materials.
An understanding of infrastructure, mechanical and electrical systems, cooling technologies, and mission-critical facilities is required.
Commercial Acumen:
- Pre-sales experience in sales engineering or technical sales is preferred, but graduates with relevant technical backgrounds will also be considered.
- Ability to translate technical concepts into business value and commercial benefits.
- Experience supporting complex, high-value B2B sales cycles is a plus.
CRM & Tools:
- Experience using Salesforce to manage customer interactions and sales opportunities.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services, or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience is required.
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel across.
