Salute has a fantastic opportunity to join our Sales & Solutions team. As we continue to grow across EMEA, we’re looking for a Solutions Architect who can turn complex data centre challenges into clear, scalable, and deliverable solutions. At Salute, we don’t just design ideas — we create solutions that work in the real world. This role sits at the centre of that, connecting customer needs with engineering, operations, and delivery teams across the full data centre lifecycle.
How we operate
In many organisations, solutioning is siloed — sales sells, engineers design, and operations figure out delivery later. At Salute, we take a fully integrated approach. Our Solutions Architects work across the entire lifecycle — from early client conversations through to delivery readiness. You’ll collaborate closely with Sales, Engineering, and Operations to ensure what we propose is not just technically sound, but practical, scalable, and ready to be delivered in live, mission‑critical environments.
This will be a hybrid position with 2 to 3 days per week based at the Gatwick office.
This role will be a great fit if you like:
- Working directly with customers to understand real operational and technical challenges
- Designing end‑to‑end data centre solutions across advisory, design, build, operate, and refresh
- Translating complex infrastructure concepts into clear, commercially relevant solutions
- Supporting major pursuits, bids, and strategic opportunities across EMEA
- Staying close to emerging technologies like AI/HPC and liquid cooling
- Collaborating across multiple teams to bring solutions from concept to reality
The role may not be a fit if:
- You prefer working in a purely technical role with no customer interaction
- You are uncomfortable operating in pre‑sales and commercial environments
- You prefer clearly defined scopes rather than shaping solutions from ambiguity
- You are not comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders or clients
On a regular basis, you will:
- Partner with Sales teams throughout the full sales lifecycle, from qualification to contract award
- Lead technical discovery sessions, workshops, and solutioning discussions with clients
- Design scalable solutions across greenfield and brownfield data centre environments
- Develop and contribute to proposals, RFP/RFQ responses, and technical presentations
- Conduct site assessments and client workshops to validate requirements
- Collaborate with Engineering, Commercial, and Operations teams to ensure solutions are deliverable and commercially viable
- Support preconstruction activities, including constructability, phasing, and risk discussions
- Advise on commissioning strategy, operational readiness, and resilience design
- Present solutions confidently to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Maintain continuity between solution design and project delivery
- Contribute to improving Salute’s service offerings and solution development processes
What you’ll be working with:
- Electrical and mechanical infrastructure (HV/LV, UPS, generators, cooling systems)
- White space design, rack and power distribution
- Advanced cooling technologies including liquid cooling and high-density environments
- Commissioning, operational readiness, and lifecycle asset planning
- Industry standards such as EN 50600, ISO standards, and Uptime Tier classifications
Skills and experience you will bring:
- Strong experience in data centre design, operations, or technical solutioning
- Proven ability to work across the full data centre lifecycle
- Experience in both greenfield and brownfield environments
- Strong customer‑facing experience in technical or pre‑sales roles
- Ability to translate technical solutions into commercial value
- Confident communicator with the ability to present to senior stakeholders and clients
- Collaborative mindset with strong relationship‑building skills
Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering, Building Services, Construction, IT, or similar — or equivalent experience
- Working knowledge in data centre or mission‑critical environments
- Experience supporting complex projects or solution development across EMEA
Nice to have:
- Experience with hyperscalers, cloud, or colocation providers
- Knowledge of AI/HPC infrastructure and liquid cooling
- Familiarity with European standards and regulations
Travel
Travel to client sites, projects, and offices as required.
