We are looking for a Marketing Executive to join our growing team.
Salus Technical was founded with one goal: to make sure everyone in the high-hazard industries gets home safely.
We are a small but ambitious team aiming to achieve 10x growth in the next five years.
The company comprises of three business units: Software, Engineering and Training. Our software and our on-demand process safety training are sold all over the world.
That means our marketing is across three business units, an audience of engineers and safety leaders, and customers on several continents.
Some weeks the job is a blog, a stack of social posts and a brochure. Others it is a LinkedIn ad budget to spend well, or an exhibition stand to plan, pack and staff. If you have done aspects of marketing within a bigger team and want a bigger share of it, this is the job for you!
The Role
You will run our marketing day to day: writing, publishing, designing, advertising and organising. Priorities are agreed with the Sales & Marketing Manager each month, so you always know what matters most and what can wait.
Content and copy
- Write social posts, web copy, blogs, case studies and campaign emails
- Turn technical material from our engineers into something a busy reader will actually finish
Social media
- Manage our channels day to day, with LinkedIn as the priority
- Build and maintain a content calendar covering all three business units
Design and marketing materials
- Create graphics, brochures, one-pagers and slide templates in Canva
- Keep our brand consistent across everything we publish
Website and market research
- Keep website content current and accurate
- Research competitors, sectors and prospects, and share what you find with the team
Campaigns and paid advertising
- Contribute ideas to the marketing plan and help execute campaigns
- Build and run paid campaigns on LinkedIn and Google, with training if you have not done it before
- Watch what the money is doing and report back honestly, including when something is not working
Events and trade shows
- Help plan our conference and exhibition programme for the year
- Organise the practical side: stand design, materials, giveaways, shipping, logistics and pre-event outreach
- Attend events with the team and represent Salus on the stand
- Follow up on the leads afterwards so the effort is not wasted
Other duties will come up as the business grows, and we will not pretend otherwise. If something needs doing and you are the best person for it, it will land with you.
Requirements
You do not need a process safety background, we will teach you what you need to know.
You do need to have done marketing before, and to be able to show us your work.
- Two to four years' experience in a marketing role
- Demonstrable experience writing great content, with examples you can share
- Confidence with Canva or a similar design tool
- Clear written English, and the patience to get the details right
- Strong organisational skills, comfortable juggling a few things at once
Any of the following would be a bonus. We do not expect all of them:
- Google Ads or LinkedIn Ads, or any hands-on paid media experience
- Organising or working a stand at a trade show or conference
- Email marketing tools such as MailChimp, and CRM tools such as HubSpot
- SEO and basic analytics
Who Are We Looking For?
We are looking for someone who:
- Takes initiative and follows things through to completion
- Stays organised across a mix of creative and hands-on work
- Thrives in a small team and wants to help shape how it grows
- Has marketing experience already and feels they have more to give than their current role asks of them
- Is curious about how technology and expertise help keep people safe in high-hazard industries
- Wants to build a marketing career
What Can We Offer?
- Hours: Full Time preferred but we would consider Part Time for the right candidate.
- Holidays: 34 days, including statutory holidays.
- Benefits: Flexible working arrangements, gym membership, and a desk in the fantastic Neospace offices in Aberdeen.
- Travel: Occasional travel to conferences and exhibitions, in the UK and sometimes overseas.
- Development: Full training in process safety and the industries we serve. You will learn a technical field properly, from the people who practise it.
- Autonomy: Priorities are agreed with your manager. How the work gets done is yours. We would far rather you brought us ideas than waited to be told.
- Growth Potential: We are hiring for a clear set of skills, but the role is bigger than the skills we are asking for. Whoever takes it can grow into the paid advertising, the events programme, the campaign planning, or all three. Marketing at Salus is one person today. It will not be in five years, and the person who builds it has the best claim on running it.
