Mayfield Medical Centre are building a new model for primary care with no Partners - we are all salaried and have a fantastic team of allied health professionals to work with. It is an interesting practice population and now is a great time to join while we are still working out how best to provide good primary care in a way of working that is manageable.

To work as part of the clinical team dealing with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all patients whilst building effective working relationships with other health care professionals.

We can offer:

  • Up to 4-6 sessions, days and times TBC but Mondays & Fridays a must
  • Competitive annual leave and study leave
  • £10-£11k per session based on experience & administrative responsibilities undertaken
  • Excellent location on Surrey/Hampshire borders, good access to the M3 and 30‑minute train service to Central London with beautiful countryside nearby.

In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.

Actioning a share of blood results and incoming clinical documents, both paper and electronic. Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self‑referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation. Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems. Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness. Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols.

Recording clear and detailed consultation notes to agreed standards. Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate. Ensure when inputting to a patients record that the correct templates are used and the relevant information is coded. In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
