SALUS Global Knowledge Exchange is seeking an ambitious Marketing & Communications Lead (maternity cover) to drive the promotion, growth, and brand delivery of our flagship European Healthcare Design and Healthy City Design Congresses, alongside our associated media and publishing products. This is a hands-on role combining strategic and tactical marketing leadership, graphic design, content creation, and campaign delivery. You’ll play a critical role in engaging global audiences across healthcare, urban design, and the built environment. This role would suit someone ready to take the next step into a more strategic position with full ownership of marketing delivery.

About the role

Reporting into the leadership team, you will take ownership of integrated marketing and communications activity across the full lifecycle of our international congresses and media platforms. You’ll work closely with programme, partnerships, and production teams to deliver high-quality, commercially impactful campaigns.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver integrated marketing and communications strategies across events and media products
  • Drive delegate, sponsor, and exhibitor acquisition through targeted campaigns
  • Oversee brand, messaging, and visual identity across all channels
  • Create and manage high-quality graphic design outputs (digital and print)
  • Deliver multi-channel campaigns across web, email, video and social media
  • Manage and update websites and support digital publishing, video and content production
  • Support media relations, PR, and partnerships
  • Collaborate across teams and manage external suppliers and freelancers
  • Contribute to event delivery, with event management experience beneficial

About you

  • Proven experience in a marketing and communications role (minimum 2 years)
  • Strong graphic design capability (Adobe Creative Suite essential)
  • Excellent written, editorial, and communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Experience in events, conferences, or media preferred
  • Experience of managing, editing and producing video content is a plus
  • Interest in healthcare, cities, design, architecture or knowledge exchange

  • A 12-month fixed-term contract covering maternity leave (starting July)
  • Primarily office-based in Billericay, Essex, with some hybrid flexibility for the right candidate
