We are looking for a high calibre Report Writer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate must have top notch communication skills and be able to troubleshoot and process work in a timely and efficient manner.

What does this role look like?

  • To deliver high standard support to advisers within the financial services team, ensuring compliance procedures and internal systems and processes are followed.
  • To work seamlessly with the existing team.
  • To develop on an ongoing basis with training and support from your line manager, with a view to progressing to a Level 4/6 qualification.
  • To maintain client confidentiality, data protection and other legislative and organisational responsibilities.
  • To seek opportunities for continuous improvements and feedback to your line manager.
  • To be flexible and tackle a variety of tasks on behalf of the team.
  • To undertake Continuous Professional Development (CPD) to meet regulatory requirements, both internally and externally.
  • Ability to take complex information and put this into clear, concise reports.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of the financial industry to deliver confident writing at multiple levels.
  • Ensuring all data and analysis are accurate.
  • Be familiar with financial regulations and ensure reports comply with these standards.
  • Financial reports produced in a timely manner, requiring efficient time management.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • To log and manage paraplanning requests from advisers.
  • To provide paraplanning support for basic and complex new business such as; individual protection, business protection, investment contributions and replacement business, pension contributions, pension drawdown and esoteric investments.
  • To assist the Pension Switch Team as needed.
  • To ensure the adviser has sufficient know your client information recorded within the back-office system, including fact find, objectives and rationale, attitude to risk, investment objectives and existing plan information.
  • To liaise with advisers where information is incomplete or unclear.
  • To conduct provider and fund research as required, including risk scoring existing and proposed investments, past performance and charges information.
  • To prepare cash flow modelling forecasts in line with group cashflow guidance.
  • To draft suitability reports based on fact find information, file notes and research.
  • To seek approval from the adviser and finalise suitability reports, including remedial work as specified by the file checking team.

Working towards Level 4 Qualified CII or equivalent qualification. Minimum 2 years experience working in the Financial Services sector. Minimum 1 year experience in Report Writing/Trainee Paraplanning role. Experience of Financial Services back office systems. Computer literacy with knowledge of word and outlook. Ability to provide high quality work, spotting and rectifying errors to layout, format, spelling and grammar as appropriate. Good planning, organisation and time management. Able to demonstrate problem solving skills. A positive can-do attitude and a strong desire to deliver high quality results. Able to use good judgement and initiative. Able to demonstrate reliability, discretion, confidentiality and flexibility. Proven experience in working as part of a team.

Where will I be working? We are looking for someone to be based from our Truro office 5 days a week, and the core office hours are 09.00 – 17.00. We’re incredibly flexible about when and how you work: we don’t want anyone to be prevented from coming to work for Saltus as a result of the working pattern that they’re looking for.
