Saltus has grown at around 40% per annum throughout its life, and today manages over £11bn in client assets - with plans to reach £20bn over the next three years. We're looking for an ambitious graduate to join our Finance team and help support one of the UK's fastest growing wealth management businesses. This is an opportunity to build a long term career in finance, gaining hands on experience across management accounting, revenue accounting, financial reporting, treasury and business analysis while studying towards a professional qualification with our full support.

Originally the business started out as an investment manager and has now developed the financial planning side of the offering, putting this at the forefront of the client relationship.

The Role and Responsibilities This is a varied role designed to give exposure to multiple areas of finance and help you develop into a qualified accounting professional. You'll be supported by experienced colleagues and will:

  • Assist with month end processes.
  • Support with income reconciliations and investigate discrepancies, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Assist with project work, including revenue related initiatives and process improvements.
  • Provide transactional support across Finance, including assisting with the redress process where required.
  • Develop knowledge of the organisation's finance systems and processes, becoming proficient in new tools and ways of working.
  • Support the Finance team with day-to-day activities across a range of finance functions.

No two days are the same, and you'll have the opportunity to get involved in a wide range of activities as your experience grows.

Person specification We're more interested in your potential than your experience but what we're looking for is:

  • Degree educated (or due to graduate this year), ideally in a numerate discipline such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Engineering or a related subject.
  • Have achieved an A or A* in A-Level Mathematics (or equivalent qualification).
  • Demonstrate a strong academic track record throughout your education.
  • Have an ability to build strong working relationships.
  • Naturally analytical, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends and solve problems.
  • Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate work.
  • Curious, proactive and eager to learn.
  • A confident communicator who enjoys collaborating with colleagues across the business.
  • Motivated to study towards a professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
  • Excited by the opportunity to build a long-term career within a growing business.
  • Previous experience gained through an internship, placement year, part-time role or work experience programme.
  • Advanced Excel skills or an interest in data analysis.
  • Experience working with large datasets.
  • An understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • An interest in financial services, wealth management or investments.

Where will I be working? We are looking for someone for our Whiteley office, and offer hybrid working, currently 3 days in the office, with the remainder at home. We’re incredibly flexible about when and how you work: we don’t want anyone to be prevented from coming to work for Saltus as a result of the working pattern that they’re looking for.
