We are looking for a Project Management Officer (PMO) to join our Business Transformation team in our London office. The PMO within the Business Transformation team will own the operational rhythm of the change portfolio and provide direct delivery coordination on smaller tactical changes across the business. This role is central to ensuring the function operates with discipline and visibility, maintaining an accurate portfolio picture, governing adherence to the delivery framework, and managing the end-to-end preparation for change governance forums. The role requires close collaboration with Project Managers, Business Analysts, and senior stakeholders across the business to ensure changes move through the appropriate lifecycle gates, and documentation standards are met.
As a PMO, you are responsible for:
- Managing the end-to-end intake process for new change requests and maintaining the portfolio tracker, ensuring submissions are complete and status across all active and pipeline work is accurate and up to date.
- Coordinating tactical prioritisation sessions and monitoring portfolio health including risks, dependencies, capacity and cross-project conflicts.
- Acting as PM on smaller tactical changes, taking them from approved request through scoping, coordination, delivery and closure, coordinating assigned Business Analysts and managing stakeholder communication throughout.
- Preparing portfolio reports, status updates and presentation materials for senior stakeholders, supporting the Head of Business Transformation in board-level portfolio reviews.
- Acting as the guardian of the Business Transformation delivery framework, maintaining a real-time compliance view across all active projects and ensuring all changes follow the appropriate lifecycle, gates and approval points, conducting gate readiness checks before submissions reach the go/no-go forum, reviewing documentation completeness and flagging gaps for resolution.
- Contributing to the ongoing development of the delivery framework including document standards, templates and guidance materials, and onboarding new Project Managers and Business Analysts into the framework.
- Owning and continuously improving PMO templates, tools and portfolio tooling, identifying recurring pain points in how work moves through the function and proposing practical improvements.
What skills and experience do I need to have?
- 3-5 years of experience working in a PMO, portfolio coordination or project support function in a delivery-focused environment.
- Demonstrable experience managing or coordinating small-to-medium deliverables end to end, with accountability for driving them to completion.
- Confident operating with senior stakeholders — able to chase, facilitate and present status clearly without escalating routine issues.
- Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines simultaneously.
- Experience producing high-quality reports, dashboards and presentation materials for a senior audience.
- Comfortable with project and portfolio tooling (Jira, Confluence or similar).
- Project Management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2 Foundation, CAPM) and familiarity with agile methodologies are highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences, influence stakeholders at all organisational levels, and build successful professional relationships both internally and externally.
- Self-motivated with exceptional time management skills, able to organise workload effectively, prioritise tasks, and work autonomously to meet objectives and deadlines under pressure.
