Introduction

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join our Business Transformation team. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining business processes, gathering and documenting business and functional requirements, writing user stories, supporting solution design, testing, and assisting in training and rollout activities. This role requires close collaboration with stakeholders, technical teams, and end users to deliver solutions that drive efficiency, accuracy, and strategic value.

Saltus is a privately owned financial planning and discretionary investment management house. We are dedicated to providing a high-quality service for private clients, trusts, and smaller institutions.

Saltus Partners was founded in 2004 and has grown organically and through a small number of carefully integrated acquisitions. Originally the business started out as an investment manager and has now developed the financial planning side of the offering, putting this at the forefront of the client relationship.

Today Saltus manages and advises on over ÂŁ9 billion of client assets, acquired through a combination of organic business growth and corporate acquisitions.

Role and responsibilities

  • Mapping and documenting end-to-end business processes, identifying opportunities for efficiency improvement.
  • Eliciting, validating, and documenting business and functional requirements, including “as is” and “to be” process models.
  • Appling business knowledge to the project environment, working closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Writing clear and concise user stories and acceptance criteria to support solution development.
  • Collaborating with development teams to translate requirements into functional specifications and solution designs.
  • Providing conceptual solutions to often complicated business problems and making recommendations for preferred approaches.
  • Facilitating communication between stakeholders and technical teams to ensure mutual understanding and alignment.
  • Supporting testing activities by validating requirements fulfilment and ensuring quality outcomes.
  • Assisting with training materials, knowledge transfer, and supporting the rollout of new systems and processes.

Essential attributes the successful candidate should possess

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Business Analyst.
  • Experience in financial planning, finance, or related domain strongly preferred.
  • Certification in Product Management, Business Analysis, or Scrum/Agile.
  • Strong understanding of business process mapping, requirement elicitation, and solution design.
  • Proficiency in creating user stories, functional specifications, and process documentation.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile methodology and frameworks.
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to work with large data sets.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience working across multiple teams.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with testing, training, and rollout activities.
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and proactive with strong problem-solving skills with a solutions-focused mindset.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to influence and build consensus.
  • Comfortable working with both business and technical audiences.

Where will I be working?

We are looking for someone to work from our London office, and we offer hybrid working, which includes 2 days in the office, with the remainder at home. We’re incredibly flexible about when and how you work: we don’t want anyone to be prevented from coming to work for Saltus as a result of the working pattern that they’re looking for. The salary is up to £55k depending on experience, alongside 28 days’ holiday (plus bank holidays), life assurance, income protection and a pension, alongside access to our flexible benefits platform. The role is 40 hours per week between the hours of 8.30-5.30pm.
