We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with strong AML / Financial Crime SME capability to support delivery of a firm‑wide project enhancing process and controls. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining and translating regulatory requirements into practical business processes and controls, solution design, implementation and assurance across multiple distribution channels. The role will work closely with front‑office stakeholders and second line teams to deliver a proportionate and auditable control framework within a fast‑paced delivery timeline.

As a Business Analyst, you are responsible for:

  • Mapping and documenting end‑to‑end business processes.
  • Eliciting, validating and documenting regulatory, business and control requirements, ensuring alignment to legislation and regulator expectations.
  • Translating regulatory requirements into practical, implementable processes and controls.
  • Producing clear “as is” and “to be” process models, ensuring consistency across channels.
  • Developing standardised procedures and guidance for distribution channels.
  • Supporting channel‑by‑channel rollout, scaling across more complex business areas.
  • Finalising solution design, collaborating with key stakeholders across Compliance, Distribution and Operations to ensure practical and adoptable.
  • Defining test scenarios and acceptance criteria, supporting validation of control effectiveness.
  • Supporting the design of Second Line of Defence (2LOD) assurance frameworks, including file review criteria and testing approaches.
  • Contributing to training materials and rollout activities, ensuring clear communication of new processes.
  • Ensuring all outputs produced are well‑documented and auditable.

As a Business Analyst, you will generally have / be:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Business Analyst within Financial Services.
  • Experience working across multi‑channel or advisory environments (e.g. wealth / financial planning) preferred.
  • Strong experience in AML, KYC or Financial Crime change programmes.
  • Demonstrable ability to interpret and apply MLR 2017, regulator guidance and risk‑based approaches.
  • Proven experience in process design, control frameworks and regulatory compliance delivery.
  • Ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical business processes and controls.
  • Strong experience in process mapping, requirement elicitation and documentation.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience working across multiple teams.
  • Experience supporting testing, roll‑out, assurance and audit readiness activities.
  • Highly organised, detail‑oriented and able to deliver in a fast‑paced, time‑constrained environment.
  • Collaborative and pragmatic, with a solutions‑focused mindset and ability to balance regulatory requirements with business practicality.

Ideally, you’d be able to be based out of our Bath office for a minimum of three days each week, working the remainder of the week from home. Alternatively, you might work part of your working week from one of our other offices. You’ll get a salary of up to £70,000 depending on experience, alongside 28 days’ holiday (plus bank holidays), study assistance, life assurance, income protection and a pension, alongside access to our flexible benefits platform.
