Across the UK, children and adults wait months - often years - for the speech and language therapy support they need. Saltroad is a clinician-led, tech-enabled provider of speech and language therapy services, built to tackle this problem. We combine our in-house technology and processes with a growing community of over 1,000 speech and language therapists to deliver high-quality, accessible services to families all over the UK - reducing wait times from months to days. We’re backed by leading UK investors, and we’re looking for a Practice Manager to support our growth.

The Role

You will sit right at the operational centre of our therapist services, making sure supervision happens, CPD is well-run, records are accurate, and our therapists have what they need to do their best work. It's a broad, autonomous role with real ownership, reporting to the founders and working closely with our Chief Clinical Officer and existing operations team. You will coordinate the people and processes around clinical work (supervision, CPD, credentials, matching), so an instinct for how a therapy service runs, and meticulous attention to detail, matters enormously. Just as important, you will help shape the community and feel of Saltroad for our therapists: the values and culture that turns a remote network of associates into a team they want to be part of.

Core Responsibilities

  • Clinical governance coordination
  • Supervision: Oversee and develop our clinical supervision programme, ensuring supervisors meet our experience criteria, and monitor the tracking system so supervision happens as often as it should.
  • CPD: Source and liaise with guest speakers; schedule sessions to ensure regular coverage across various clinical areas; set up new CPD groups based on member interest; gather topic ideas from the community; and share notes, slides, and resources afterwards.
  • Credentials & compliance: Oversee our system for managing accurate, up-to-date records of therapist credentials (HCPC registration, RCSLT membership, AccessNI/DBS, insurance) and flag renewals before they lapse.
  • Policies: Own the service delivery policy library: keep policies current, version-controlled, reviewed on schedule, and distributed.
  • Operations
  • Clinic spaces: Help to source, book, and manage clinic spaces for our therapists network to deliver in-person work.
  • Local meet ups: Help coordinate therapist-hosted, local events designed to foster community and drive new sign ups.
  • Therapist Member Perks: Develop and maintain a member perks / benefits programme for our therapists.
  • Therapist payouts: Oversee therapist payments. The process is automated, but you will field queries, run checks, and resolve any discrepancies so therapists are paid accurately and on time.
  • Triage & matching support: Assist with our matching process using our proprietary tools and defined rules, as needed.
  • Community & engagement
  • Culture: Build the sense of community, belonging, and shared identity that makes therapists want to stay with Saltroad. CPD, events, and member perks all feed into this.
  • Therapist Communications: Keep therapists informed of Saltroad updates, engaged, and recognised: regular communication, celebrating milestones and good work, and welcoming new joiners in warmly.
  • General
  • Therapist Support: Be the frontline point of contact for therapists on administrative and day-to-day issues, resolving them quickly or routing them to the right place.
  • Therapist Onboarding: Support therapist onboarding as needed.
  • Process Improvements: Spot and improve clunky processes that need streamlined or automated as we scale.

Essential Criteria

  • Proven experience as a practice manager, operations manager, or senior coordinator, ideally in a healthcare, clinical, or regulated professional-services setting.
  • Exceptional organisation and attention to detail. Accurate record-keeping is non-negotiable in this role. The small things genuinely matter.
  • Confident in owning processes and holding others to them, warmly but firmly.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; a reassuring, professional manner.
  • A self-starter who thrives working autonomously in a remote, distributed team.
  • Genuinely digital and tech-savvy: quick to pick up new software and confident working across the tools the role runs on.
  • Sound judgement with confidential and sensitive data.

Desirable

  • Practice management experience within an SLT, allied health, therapy, or NHS/independent clinical setting.
  • Familiarity with RCSLT and HCPC frameworks, clinical supervision, and CPD.
  • Experience with a distributed/associate workforce model.
  • A track record of building community, belonging, or engagement within a team, network, or membership base.

What We Can Offer

  • Competitive salary, depending on experience.
  • Employee share option scheme - real ownership of the business.
  • Flexible, fully remote working, anywhere in the UK.
  • A broad, high-trust role with genuine ownership in a growing, mission-led company.
  • The chance to shape how a modern therapy service is run.
