Role Description
We are seeking experienced freelance Playground Inspectors to carry out independent safety inspections of playground equipment and surfacing, with a focus on RoSPA annual inspections and compliance with BS EN 1176 standards.
- Conducting RoSPA/RPII annual inspections of playgrounds and play equipment
- Identifying defects, hazards, and maintenance requirements
- Producing detailed, professional inspection reports
- Advising on required remedial actions and risk levels
- Supporting compliance with current playground safety standards
- Liaising with our team regarding follow-up maintenance requirements
Note: This role is primarily inspection and reporting. Where appropriate, there may be opportunities to quote separately for minor repair or maintenance works through our wider service division.
Qualifications
- RPII Annual Inspector qualification and/or RoSPA playground inspection experience (essential)
- Strong knowledge of BS EN 1176 / 1177 standards
- Experience conducting safety inspections, audits, or risk assessments
- Excellent written reporting skills
- High attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Strong communication and professionalism with local authority clients
- Ability to use digital reporting tools
Desirable (not essential)
- Experience in playground maintenance or minor repairs
- Background in parks, leisure, or facilities management
