About The Role
We are seeking a motivated Electricians mate/labourer to assist qualified electricians with the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems. Working under the direct supervision of an experienced electrician, you will play a key role in assisting with tasks such as preparing materials, running cables, wiring, and testing systems. This position is ideal for someone with a background in construction or trades labouring who is looking to develop their skills within the electrical industry. The ideal applicant will be effective in communicating with the supervising electricians and other tradespeople on site. The working pattern is Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours, 08:00 – 16:30.
Main Responsibilities
- Assisting in running electrical cables through walls, ceilings, and floors.
- Securing cables to prevent damage and ensuring they are routed in compliance with safety standards.
- Working closely with electricians to ensure all electrical installations meet regulations.
- Mounting electrical fixtures, lights, outlets, and switches.
- Assisting in the installation of electrical panels, wiring, and distribution boards.
- Help electricians install power and lighting circuits, security systems, and other essential electrical systems.
- Troubleshooting electrical issues like malfunctioning lights or outlets.
- Replacing faulty components such as switches, fuses, or circuit breakers.
- Testing and inspecting systems to verify they meet electrical safety standards.
- Keeping the job site free from debris and unused materials.
- Safely disposing of waste materials, including electrical components and packaging.
- Must be flexible with working hours, including working away, early starts, late finishes, and some weekends as required.
