Saltire is seeking a qualified and motivated Electrician to join our expanding Heating & Electrical team. This role focuses on the installation, maintenance, and commissioning of modern electric storage heating systems in both domestic and commercial properties across Scotland.

As part of a highly skilled team, you will work on the delivery of efficient and compliant heating solutions that help clients improve energy performance, comfort, and control. You will work with a range of systems including traditional storage heaters, high heat retention units, and advanced electric heating technologies.

Main Responsibilities of the Role

  • Travel to client sites across Scotland to install, maintain, and commission electric storage heating systems.
  • Install electric heating systems accurately, following detailed specifications, manufacturer guidelines, and project designs.
  • Ensure all electrical work complies fully with BS7671:2018 Amendment 2 and current industry regulations.
  • Perform testing, inspection, and certification of heating installations.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults in heating systems to minimise downtime and maximise customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate documentation for all works, including test results, installation records, and compliance certificates.
  • Carry out surveys and prepare reports on heating system condition, safety, and suitability.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, project managers, and internal teams to ensure smooth and timely project delivery.
  • Ensure full compliance with health and safety standards, carrying out site risk assessments and using appropriate PPE and tools.
  • Provide clients with handover information, including user guidance on installed systems.
  • Support colleagues in other trades when required, as part of a multi-skilled team approach.
  • Stay up to date with changes in electrical and heating regulations, technologies, and best practices.
  • Attend toolbox talks, team meetings, and safety briefings regularly.

Qualifications Required

  • Valid UK driving licence, with a willingness to travel extensively across Scotland.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent trade qualification.
  • Fully certified to BS7671:2018 Amendment 2 (IET Wiring Regulations).
  • Proven experience working with electric heating systems, especially storage heating.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively while also contributing to team projects.
  • Good understanding of electrical safety and heating system design.
