Salters Meadow Centre is looking for a motivated and friendly Receptionist for our busy GP Surgery in Burntwood. This will be a full-time post; however, we would consider part-time for the right candidate. The successful candidate will be confident, professional with excellent telephone and customer service skills. You must have the ability to work under pressure, to work as part of a team and be flexible. Experience of using the EMIS Web clinical system is preferable.

Main duties of the job:

  • Excellent telephone manner and customer service skills.
  • Computer literate.
  • Answering the telephones and making appointments.
  • Providing patients with the appropriate guidance as needed.
  • Maintaining patient records plus other admin tasks.

Knowledge of EMIS web and Docman preferred. Teamwork is essential.

About us:

Salters Meadow Centre has a practice population of approximately 12,000 patients. We have 4 GP Partners, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, a team of Practice Nurses, a Health Care Assistant, a phlebotomist and an established Reception/Admin/Clerical team. We are also supported by the PCN who provide various roles within practice.

Job responsibilities:

  • Excellent communication and telephone skills are essential as you will be receiving and responding to requests from patients, carers, and other healthcare providers as well as liaising with other members of the surgery team.
  • You will have the ability to be organised and be able to multi-task in a fast-paced working environment.
  • Experience in an NHS reception post would be desirable but not essential.
  • The Receptionist is at the forefront and must remain professional at all times.

Person Specification:

  • Previous experience working in a GP Practice.
  • Experience dealing with the general public.
