Salter Grange is partnering with a leading Tier 1 Main Contractor to recruit an experienced Building Services Manager for a flagship commercial redevelopment in Cardiff city centre. This landmark 10-storey project will deliver a high-specification Category B fit-out incorporating smart building technology, sustainability-focused design, and ambitious ESG targets, targeting BREEAM Excellent certification.
This is an excellent opportunity to lead the Mechanical, Electrical, and Public Health (MEP) delivery on a high-profile project, taking responsibility from installation through commissioning and handover.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage all on-site MEP activities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate specialist subcontractors to ensure programme, quality, and safety targets are achieved.
- Oversee M&E design development, technical coordination, and design changes.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, building regulations, and sustainability requirements.
- Manage commissioning, testing, and project handover activities.
- Work closely with commercial, design, and delivery teams to manage risk, quality, and performance.
- Lead technical meetings with consultants, client representatives, and key stakeholders.
- Proven experience as a Building Services Manager, Senior M&E Manager, or similar on major commercial or high-rise developments.
- Strong track record delivering large-scale MEP packages (£15m+ preferred).
- Excellent leadership, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
- Knowledge of sustainable building systems and BREEAM-led projects.
- HNC/HND or Degree qualified in Building Services, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Valid SMSTS and CSCS Black or Gold Card.
