Following a series of major project wins, a global leader in the mission-critical sector is seeking a high-calibre Project Director to spearhead a landmark Data Centre development in Central Europe. With a turnover exceeding €3 billion and a project pipeline secured through 2030, our client is a dominant force in European infrastructure. This role offers the opportunity to lead a world-class delivery team for a "Blue Chip" technology client, providing a platform to manage one of the most complex engineering projects currently active in the European market.
As Project Director, you will hold ultimate accountability for the strategic execution and commercial success of the project. You will serve as the primary interface between the site leadership, the executive board, and the client.
Project Director Responsibilities:
- Provide inspirational direction to a multi-disciplinary senior operations team, fostering a culture of safety, innovation, and excellence.
- Act as the lead ambassador for the project, ensuring deep alignment with client expectations and long-term strategic goals.
- Oversee the full project lifecycle, from tender finalisation and subcontractor procurement to commissioning and handover.
- Maintain rigorous oversight of project budgets, P&L, and KPIs, reporting directly to the Board of Directors.
- Lead internal contract reviews and implement robust management systems to mitigate operational and legal risks.
- Spearhead training initiatives to upskill the project team, ensuring a high-performance environment and a clear succession plan.
Project Director Requirements:
- Extensive experience as a Project Director or Senior Project Manager with a "Main Contractor" background, specifically delivering large-scale Data Centres, Life Sciences, or Industrial projects ($200m+).
- You must have a demonstrable history of taking major mission-critical projects from initial ground-breaking through to final energisation and handover.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to navigate complex contracts and manage high-level stakeholder relationships.
- A willingness to lead projects on the ground in Central Europe (supported by a market-leading rotation/travel package).
