Salter Grange is partnering with a Specialist Tier 1 Engineering Contractor known for its world-class Pre-construction and Project Delivery in the UK and Europe. We\’re hiring a Project Director to lead a high-profile, hyperscale Data Centre Project in Spain for a prestigious client.
This is a strategic, long-term appointment with a minimum expected duration of 5+ years. The role is structured for rapid career progression. With a dedicated, supportive Senior Director team already in place, you\’ll be fast-tracked for future divisional leadership and strategic growth within the Mission-Critical Sector.
The MEP Project Director will be Fluent in Spanish (Written and Spoken). This is essential for managing local teams, subcontractors, and legal documentation.
You will take full ownership of the project lifecycle, ensuring the delivery of a state-of-the-art Data Centre with complex M&E requirements. Your focus will be on safety, quality, and commercial excellence while successfully navigating the local operational environment.
MEP Project Director Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the critical Liaison to Senior Management and the Board, providing transparent project updates and driving strategic decisions.
- Efficiently manage budgets and costs; collaborate with the Project QS on all financial and commercial contracting matters.
- Oversee the operational aspects of the tender process and lead end-to-end project operations, ensuring alignment with rigorous client safety, quality, and environmental objectives.
- Foster a high-performance culture by providing leadership support and implementing comprehensive training programs to enhance team proficiency.
- Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), implement effective subcontractor management systems, and facilitate seamless cross-departmental communication for continuous improvement.
- Proactively resolve any internal or external disputes and conduct thorough internal contract review meetings with legal teams.
MEP Project Director Key Requirements:
- Absolute Fluency in Spanish (Written and Spoken). This is essential for managing local teams, subcontractors, and legal documentation.
- A robust, MEP-focused track record in successfully delivering Mission-Critical projects (e.g., Hyperscale Data Centres, Pharma, or Advanced Manufacturing).
- Previous experience within a General Contracting or Main Contracting environment, preferably in Europe.
- Exceptional capabilities in Client Relationship Management, Budget Management, and Senior Stakeholder Communication.
