Salter Grange is recruiting a Mechanical Project Manager to join a leading, award-winning specialist MEP contractor. Our client is a premier mechanical and electrical specialist known for delivering complex, high-profile infrastructure projects across the UK and Europe, particularly in the Health, Education, and Data Centre sectors.

You will be the mechanical lead on a significant £110m healthcare redevelopment currently underway in the Surbiton area. This is a multi-year project focused on modernising specialist clinical and mental health facilities. It is a technically demanding site requiring precise engineering and high-level coordination with a Tier 1 main contractor.

Mechanical Project Manager Responsibilities:
  • Lead the procurement of mechanical sub-packages and specialist equipment.
  • Manage technical design variations and maintain strong relationships with the project partners and the Trust.
  • Manage the full mechanical site team, including specialised 3rd-party subcontractors.
  • Ensure all installations meet stringent healthcare building standards and are delivered in line with the £30M MEP budget.
  • Ensure a "safety first" culture is maintained at all times within a sensitive construction environment.
  • Drive weekly design, progress, and commercial meetings to ensure the project meets its long-term delivery milestones.
Mechanical Project Manager Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Project Manager, either degree-qualified or from a strong trade background.
  • Proven ability to deliver mechanical packages valued between £10M and £30M.
  • Experience in Healthcare or Life Sciences is highly desirable due to the specific regulatory and technical requirements of clinical environments.
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to manage complex multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Proficient in MS Office and project management software.
