Estimator – Residential Main Contractor

Location: Central London

Are you an experienced Estimator looking to join a growing main contractor with a strong pipeline of projects across London? Our client is an ambitious main contractor delivering high quality residential developments, refurbishments and mixed-use schemes throughout London. Due to continued growth and a strong order book, they are looking to appoint an Estimator to strengthen their pre-construction team.

The Role

Working closely with the Pre-Construction Lead and Commercial team, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders across a variety of residential construction projects up to c.Β£70m. Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions
  • Producing accurate take-offs from drawings and specifications
  • Obtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations
  • Identifying value engineering opportunities
  • Reviewing tender documentation, programmes and project risks
  • Preparing bills of quantities and pricing schedules where required
  • Working alongside Quantity Surveyors and Project Managers during the pre-construction phase
  • Attending site visits, client meetings and tender interviews
  • Supporting successful project handovers to the delivery team

About You

We're looking for someone who is commercially minded, detail oriented and enjoys working within a fast paced construction environment. You'll ideally have:

  • Previous experience as an Estimator within a UK main contractor
  • Experience pricing residential new build and refurbishment projects
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials and procurement
  • Experience using estimating software and Microsoft Excel
  • A Quantity Surveying or Construction related qualification would be advantageous
