Mechanical Project Manager - Frankfurt, Germany Salter Grange is recruiting an experienced Mechanical Project Manager on behalf of our client, a European leader in construction solutions, delivering complex engineering and construction projects for some of the world's leading corporations across Enterprise Data Centres, Advanced Technology & Life Sciences, Hyperscale Data Centres and Fire Protection. Key Responsibilities of the Mechanical Project Manager: * Understand and support engineering requirements by managing and liaising with key project stakeholders, including the client design team, main contractor, suppliers and sub-contractors * Provide information reporting to ensure activity targets and deadlines are met in support of the project team * Review drawings and specifications, and become familiar with design/IFC specifications and drawings to fully understand the scope of works; oversee the coordination process that transforms design information into full installation drawings via BIM, ensuring spec compliance and schedule priority, including generation and management of Requests for Information (RFIs) * Manage the installation to meet project quality standards on site, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and specifications, including all site activities associated with validation and handover to the client * Manage site safety in conjunction with the project team and Safety Advisor, including set-up, management and close-out of the safety file * Manage site QA in conjunction with the QA Manager, including set-up, management and close-out of the QA file * Manage the project schedule in conjunction with the project team, consulting engineer and client requirements * Manage all costs associated with the project, including labour, materials, plant and equipment, design review and approval of OSM equipment, variations and valuations * Manage day-to-day site operations, ensuring company policies and SOPs are followed * Manage sub-contractor activities, tracking progress against schedule and manpower levels, with a weekly minuted meeting with each sub-contractor * Manage the project's snagging system, ensuring supervisors return weekly punch lists where applicable * Issue direct labour and sub-contractor hours to the time administrator for central tracking * Attend site meetings, internal project reviews, engineering reviews, planning and coordination meetings, and handover meetings * Close out all project items, including final account, O&M manuals, punch list, safety file, QA file, material and plant relocations and the project plan, with support from the site project team * Upload the internal weekly progress report to the project file system, highlighting percentage complete against WBS codes and any risk elements within the project team's control, such as late deliveries * Issue the external weekly progress report to all stakeholders, highlighting delays, design shortages, third-party hold-ups and percentage complete * Ensure all sub-contractor documentation, including safety documentation, is kept up to date and filed for future reference * Issue weekly safety stats and project labour projections * Hold weekly commercial meetings with the commercial team to ensure all variations are captured and costs issued to the client * Develop and implement company procedures with the package managers * Ensure change management is handled correctly for both cost and programme * Manage, lead and mentor the Mechanical team on the project, ensuring all mechanical packages are delivered successfully Essential Criteria for the Mechanical Project Manager role: * Ideally 8+ years' experience * Mechanical Engineering degree * Data centre experience an advantage * Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills * High level of accuracy and attention to detail * Good oral and written communication skills To apply for this Mechanical Project Manager role, or for a confidential discussion, please contact Salter Grange
