I'm recruiting on behalf of a leading international engineering contractor delivering some of Europe's most high-profile Data Centre projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Lead to join a business with a strong reputation for delivering complex, technically demanding, mission-critical environments to the highest standards of safety, quality and programme performance.

We are seeking a proven Mechanical Lead to take ownership of the mechanical delivery on large-scale Data Centre projects, from installation through to commissioning and handover. This is a senior site-based role requiring strong leadership, excellent technical knowledge of mechanical building services, and the ability to manage teams, subcontractors and stakeholders in a fast-paced project environment.

Mechanical Lead Responsibilities
  • Lead the mechanical delivery team on major Data Centre projects across Europe.
  • Oversee the installation of mechanical systems including HVAC, pipework, plant rooms and associated building services.
  • Manage subcontractors, supervisors and site teams to ensure safe, efficient and high-quality delivery.
  • Coordinate closely with project managers, engineers, consultants, client representatives and commissioning teams.
  • Monitor progress against programme, identify risks and drive solutions to maintain delivery targets.
  • Ensure full compliance with health and safety, quality assurance and project specifications.
  • Support testing, commissioning, snagging and final handover activities.
  • Maintain accurate site records, progress reporting and coordination documentation.
Mechanical Lead Requirements
  • Proven experience in a Mechanical Lead, Mechanical Supervisor or similar senior delivery role on large-scale construction projects.
  • Strong background in mechanical building services installation and coordination.
  • Previous experience on Data Centre, mission-critical, pharmaceutical, industrial or other complex technical projects is highly desirable.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong understanding of site safety, quality control and programme management.
  • Ability to work effectively in a demanding project environment and travel across Europe as required.
  • Relevant mechanical trade, engineering or construction qualification preferred.
