Job Description

Design Manager – St Albans – £30m+ Projects\\n \\nWe are seeking a proven Design Manager to take ownership of a major build project in St Albans. This scheme is within the life sciences sector, so previous experience in this area would be highly beneficial. However, candidates with strong backgrounds in commercial, industrial, or data centre projects will also be considered.\\nYou will be responsible for managing the full design process, coordinating consultants and contractors, and ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standards of quality, compliance, and safety.\\n \\nAbout the role: \\n\\nOversee design stages from inception through to completion – lead design meetings, carry out technical reviews.\\nMaintain compliance with life sciences regulations (BREEAM, manage contract specifications, drawings, O&M and H&S file collation).\\nInterface effectively with stakeholders – clients, contractors, and colleagues – resolve issues and deliver to schedule \\nRequirements:\\n\\nExperience working as a Design Manager (or similar role).\\nSuccessful track record on projects valued at £25m+.\\nLife sciences experience preferred, or strong exposure to commercial, industrial, or data centre builds.\\nStrong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. \\nWhat’s on offer:\\n\\nThe chance to work on technically complex, high-value projects.\\nA collaborative and supportive environment.\\nCompetitive salary and benefits with genuine scope for career growth. \\nIf you have the experience and ambition to deliver at this level, we’d love to hear from you.
