We are working with an expanding and well-regarded Structural and Civil Engineering Consultancy who, as part of their continued growth, are looking to appoint a Senior Structural Engineer to join their Permanent Works Team. This is a key role, suited to someone experienced, confident, and personable, who has strong experience in the design of building structures.
Responsibilities
- Play a key role in structural design and delivery of permanent works across a range of building and infrastructure projects.
- Produce, check, and approve structural calculations, technical reports, and design documentation in line with UK standards.
- Deliver detailed structural designs in steel, reinforced concrete, timber, and masonry using relevant Eurocodes and British Standards.
- Coordinate closely with civil engineers, architects, contractors, and other disciplines to ensure integrated design solutions.
- Take technical ownership of projects from concept through detailed design and construction support.
- Use and oversee the application of structural analysis and design software (e.g. ETABS, SAFE, Tekla, TSD, Robot, SCIA or similar).
- Review drawings and models to ensure accuracy, buildability, and compliance with design intent.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers and support their professional development.
- Manage multiple projects and workstreams simultaneously, ensuring delivery to programme and budget.
- Liaise with clients and stakeholders, clearly communicating technical solutions and responding to design queries.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards CEng with ICE or IStructE.
- At least 7+ years of post-graduate experience in structural engineering.
