For Companies Technical Lead – Shopify
£60,000 – £70,000 | Fully Remote (UK)
We’re looking for a Shopify Technical Lead to take ownership of high-profile projects, lead development teams, and shape technical direction across Shopify web applications and apps. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll be coding, architecting solutions, and mentoring developers, while also playing a key part in client engagement and delivery.
What you’ll be doing
Leading technical planning, architecture, and implementation of Shopify projects
Driving code quality, best practices, and DevOps processes (CI/CD, GitHub, documentation)
Overseeing incident reviews, resolving technical issues, and improving reliability
Collaborating with PMs, BAs, architects, and clients to align on technical direction
Mentoring and managing developers, running code reviews, and fostering team growth
Promoting continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and technical excellence
What we’re looking for
3-4+ years’ hands-on Shopify development experience, with expertise in Liquid, HTML, CSS/SCSS, JavaScript, GraphQL
Strong knowledge of Shopify Plus , Admin API, Functions API, UI Extensions, and 3rd party integrations
Experience with theme build tools (, Webpack) and DevOps practices
Ability to design scalable solutions and communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Previous experience leading teams or operating in a senior developer role
Solid understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG), GDPR, PCI, and performance optimisation (Core Web Vitals, page speed)
Familiarity with Polaris, Storefront/Dev MCP servers, and emerging Shopify advancements in AI is a plus
