We are seeking an experienced Social Listening Specialist to join on a freelance basis. In this role, you will take ownership of end-to-end social listening projects, leveraging a wide array of digital and social data sources to unlock key insights that drive brand growth and customer engagement. Your work will directly influence brand strategy, marketing campaigns, product development, and customer communications. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact by delivering both qualitative and quantitative insights to some of our most important strategic initiatives. You will work cross-functionally with marketing, communications, product, and commercial teams, acting as a subject matter expert in social data and sentiment analysis.
You will:
- Lead and deliver end-to-end social listening and online conversation analysis projects across multiple digital touchpoints.
- Translate internal stakeholder briefs into well-structured research questions and actionable insights.
- Build and refine Boolean search queries using platforms such as Brandwatch, Talkwalker, Sprinklr, Hootsuite, and others.
- Conduct detailed sentiment, trend, and influencer analyses, identifying emerging topics, audience behaviours, and potential reputational risks.
- Produce compelling and well-structured insight reports and presentations using PowerPoint, incorporating both data visualisations and narrative storytelling.
- Work collaboratively with the wider Insights and Marketing teams to shape campaign strategies and measure brand health and campaign effectiveness over time.
You will need:
- Strong background in social listening or digital insights, ideally within an agency or consultancy environment.
- Confidence using social listening tools and can independently build, test, and refine queries to suit a wide range of business questions.
- You are experienced in translating complex data into clear, concise insights and recommendations for non-technical stakeholders.
- You have a great understanding of brand tracking, audience segmentation, digital marketing, and media trends.
- Experience with influencer tracking, crisis monitoring, and campaign performance evaluation would be advantageous.
- Familiarity with other complementary tools such as Google Analytics, Tableau, or social media management platforms.
