We are looking for an experienced Deployment Manager to lead the onsite delivery of a large scale Windows 11 device migration programme. The programme involves the rollout of approximately 2,100 devices, and you will take responsibility for the day to day operational delivery, coordinating deployment engineers, rollout waves, business teams and end users. This is a hands on delivery leadership role requiring someone with a strong technical understanding of Windows 11 device deployments, Intune and Autopilot. Due to the nature of the rollout, you will be required onsite 5 days per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the onsite delivery of a large scale Windows 11 device rollout
  • Manage and coordinate third party deployment engineers
  • Plan and manage deployment waves across multiple departments and user groups
  • Manage daily deployment schedules, appointments and rollout capacity
  • Ensure devices, applications and users are ready ahead of each deployment wave
  • Oversee Windows 11 device provisioning through Intune and Autopilot
  • Act as the main point of contact between technical teams, business services and end users
  • Manage deployment day technical issues, failed deployments and remediation
  • Coordinate with Intune, application packaging, infrastructure and Service Desk teams
  • Maintain live deployment trackers covering completed, outstanding, failed and deferred devices
  • Monitor deployment volumes and progress against agreed targets
  • Manage third party supplier and engineering performance
  • Provide regular progress updates and reporting
  • Maintain RAID logs and escalate risks, issues and dependencies
  • Ensure device handover and deployment quality standards are maintained

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience leading large scale end user device deployments
  • Strong experience delivering Windows 10 to Windows 11 migrations
  • Experience managing technology rollouts of at least 500 devices
  • Strong technical understanding of Microsoft Intune
  • Experience with Windows Autopilot
  • Good understanding of device provisioning, enrolment, application deployment and user profile setup
  • Experience managing phased or wave based device deployments
  • Experience leading or coordinating technical deployment engineers
  • Strong deployment scheduling and resource planning experience
  • Ability to troubleshoot and coordinate resolution of deployment issues
  • Strong stakeholder management and end user communication skills
  • Experience managing third party suppliers or technical delivery partners
  • Experience maintaining deployment trackers, RAID logs and progress reporting

Desirable Experience

  • Local Government or wider Public Sector experience
  • Previous experience delivering multi site device rollouts
  • Application packaging knowledge
  • SCCM experience
  • PowerShell knowledge
  • ITIL Foundation or equivalent

This role would particularly suit a Technical Deployment Lead, Technical Rollout Lead, Windows 11 Deployment Lead, EUC Deployment Lead or experienced Deployment Manager with a strong technical background in enterprise device rollouts.
