Salt Recruitment is working with a South West London Local Authority to recruit an experienced Interim IT Infrastructure & Operations Manager to lead the delivery and support of critical IT infrastructure and operational services. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring an experienced manager who can oversee technical teams, maintain service stability and drive continuous improvement across infrastructure, cloud and end user services.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a multidisciplinary IT Operations team covering infrastructure, networks, end user computing and telephony services.
- Ensure the availability, performance and security of critical IT services.
- Manage and support cloud platforms including AWS and Azure.
- Oversee infrastructure technologies including Windows 11, firewalls, DNS, networking and Microsoft Teams telephony.
- Drive service improvements and implement operational best practice.
- Monitor service performance and ensure effective incident and problem management.
- Work closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation to support business objectives.
- Manage third party suppliers and service providers.
- Ensure compliance with security, governance and operational standards.
Essential Experience
- Proven experience managing IT Infrastructure and Operations teams.
- Strong technical background across cloud, networking and end user computing.
- Experience supporting Azure and AWS environments.
- Knowledge of Windows 11, Microsoft 365, Teams Telephony, DNS and firewall technologies.
- Experience managing service delivery within complex environments.
- Strong stakeholder management and leadership skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment.
Desirable Experience
- Local Government experience.
- Public Sector experience.
- ITIL certification or equivalent service management experience.

- Β£550 per day Umbrella
