Job Description

My client, a leading American company in luxury housewares design, is seeking an experienced and ambitious Accountant to join their team in London, Liverpool Street. Known for creating high-quality products that make everyday tasks more efficient, the company is in the midst of a five-year expansion plan across the EMEA region.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing secure financial processes and controls to ensure the financial integrity of the business. This role involves day-to-day responsibility for the accounting functions and personnel. You will work closely with the management teams in the UK and US to develop a progressive and deadline-focused finance function that supports company growth and delivers excellence in all financial areas.

Key Responsibilities:

Month-End Management & Reporting: Execute timely month-end tasks, manage prepayments, accruals, and fixed assets, and deliver accurate monthly financial reports and commentary for review with directors.

Financial Operations: Oversee receivables and payables, manage banking, and ensure on-time cash collection and supplier payments. This includes creating and executing the weekly payment run.

Compliance & Payroll: Lead the monthly payroll process and pension submissions. You will also oversee UK and European tax compliance and returns (VAT, duty, IOSS) and manage the annual audit.

Strategic Development: Assist with annual budgeting and cost control processes. You will also review the finance team's performance and develop financial controls that are widely understood.

Requirements:

  • Part-qualified with relevant experience or fully qualified (ACA, ACCA, AICPA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Over 5 years of accounting experience.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Advanced IT skills, with a curious, ambitious mindset and strong attention to detail.
