Salt College and Salt Training Limited are seeking an ambitious and experienced Assistant Principal - Quality & Compliance to lead the quality assurance, curriculum development and compliance across our Study Programmes, Apprenticeships, Supported Internships and Adult Learning provision.
This is a key senior leadership role responsible for ensuring excellence in teaching, learning and assessment, maintaining compliance with Department for Education (Df E) funding requirements, and preparing the organisation for funding audits and Ofsted inspections.
The Role
- Lead the strategic development of quality assurance, curriculum development and compliance across all funded provision.
- Drive outstanding teaching, learning and assessment through quality improvement processes, lesson observations, constructive feedback and staff development.
- Develop and monitor Self-Assessment Reports (SARs), Quality Improvement Plans (QIPs) and continuous quality assurance activities.
- Ensure compliance with Df E funding rules, awarding body requirements and contractual obligations while preparing the organisation for audits and Ofsted inspections.
- Line manage curriculum leaders and teaching staff across Study Programmes, Apprenticeships, Supported Internships and Adult Learning.
- Work collaboratively with Local Authorities, employers, awarding organisations and external stakeholders to enhance learner outcomes.
- Champion inclusive teaching practices, safeguarding and staff development, ensuring learners with SEND and EHCPs receive high-quality support.
- What We Are Looking For
- Significant experience in Further Education quality assurance, curriculum development and compliance.
- A proven track record of improving teaching, learning and assessment through coaching, observations and quality improvement initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of Df E funding rules, audit requirements, Ofsted expectations and apprenticeship compliance.
- Experience working with Local Authorities, employers and other external stakeholders.
- Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills, with experience managing educational teams.
- Experience supporting learners with SEND and promoting inclusive teaching and learning.
- A commitment to delivering outstanding learner outcomes and continuous improvement.
Essential Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status, DET, DTLLS or QTS.
- Teaching qualification recognised within Further Education.
- Assessor qualification (desirable).
- Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) qualification (desirable).
