We're looking for an experienced Project Manager with a proven track record of delivering complex SharePoint migration projects from end to end within a Local Authority or wider Public Sector environment. This is a hands‑on delivery role covering all stages of the project lifecycle – from mobilisation and planning through to implementation, transition to live, and project closure. You'll lead multiple stakeholders and technical teams to ensure successful delivery within agreed time, quality, and budget parameters.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the end‑to‑end delivery of the SharePoint Migration project, ensuring seamless transition to SharePoint Online (M365).
- Oversee project planning, resourcing, governance, and reporting in line with PMO standards.
- Develop and maintain project documentation, RAID logs, and status reports.
- Manage budgets, risks, dependencies, and third‑party suppliers.
- Ensure all deliverables meet required quality and compliance standards.
- Work closely with Technology & Digital Services, business users, and external partners to define requirements and ensure smooth adoption.
- Support related digital transformation initiatives and contribute to organisational change.
- Transition the solution to operational support and ensure knowledge transfer to BAU teams.
Essential Experience
- Extensive experience managing SharePoint migrations (on‑premise to SharePoint Online / M365) from initiation to go‑live.
- Strong background in project delivery within Local Government or the wider Public Sector – this is mandatory.
- Proven ability to deliver multiple complex IT or Digital projects concurrently.
- Solid understanding of project governance, financial control, and risk management.
- Experience working with technical teams, vendors, and stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and reporting skills.
- Prince2, Agile, or MSP certification (or equivalent practical experience).
Desirable Knowledge
- Knowledge of information governance and records management within the public sector.
- Familiarity with M365, Teams, and OneDrive integration.
- Experience delivering projects involving cultural or organisational change.
