Salt Recruitment is working with a fast-growing international AI vendor that specialises in voice-first and agent-led automation for public services. They’ve delivered award-winning projects across Europe, Asia, and Latin America – and are now scaling their presence in the UK.
As part of their growth in the e-Government space, they’re hiring a Project Manager with practical experience delivering digital or AI projects into UK local government. This is an initial 6-month fixed-term contract, ideal for someone who thrives in dynamic, cross-cultural teams and wants to help shape how AI transforms frontline services.
What you’ll do:
- Lead delivery of AI automation projects for UK councils (initial focus on adult social care and citizen engagement)
- Act as a UK delivery lead – coordinating globally distributed technical teams

- Translate client needs into clear delivery plans, ensuring outcomes are realistic and value-driven
- Support teams across discovery, design, and implementation – ensuring AI solutions are not only deployed, but adopted
What we’re looking for:
- A proven background in project delivery within UK local government or a vendor delivering into it
- Excellent communication skills – able to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Comfortable working with distributed teams across time zones
- Experience across multiple industry verticals (e.g. financial services, energy) is a bonus
- A technical background or understanding of AI / automation is desirable but not essential
- Additional languages (e.g. French, Spanish, Portuguese) are a plus
The role:
- Initial 6-month fixed-term contract
- £40,000 – £50,000 annual salary. The client is also open to considering contractors on a day-rate basis (outside IR35), aligned to the equivalent of the salary range.
- Remote-first with a strong team culture
- If you’re looking to apply your project management skills in an innovative, mission-driven company shaping the future of public services, we’d love to hear from you.
