Interim Project Manager – Change & Transformation (Housing / Local Government)
Day rate: £550 per day (higher rates considered for exceptional candidates)
Location: Hybrid, London (minimum 3 days on site per week)
Contract: 3 months initially, with potential extension
Salt is working with a London Local Authority to recruit an experienced Change Project Manager to lead high-priority projects within their Housing Improvement Programme. This role is about organisational change and service transformation.
Must-Have Experience
- Proven background delivering complex change projects at pace (service or organisational transformation, not tech rollouts).
- Organisation design and operating model development experience.
- Local Government or Housing sector experience – housing repairs or compliance transformation is highly desirable.
- Stakeholder management at Director level – able to influence senior leaders and frontline teams.
- Hands-on delivery: moving quickly from design through to implementation.
The Role
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of change projects, ensuring pace and impact.
- Drive organisational redesign, workforce alignment, and service transformation.
- Produce options appraisals, business cases, and delivery roadmaps.
- Provide clear governance, risk management, and reporting.
- Support change management activities including comms, training, and transition planning.
